David Vivian Currie VC

I belong to a descendant arm of Ann Rosser’s family tree that emigrated to Australia. David Vivian Currie belongs to a descendant arm that emigrated to Canada.

David Vivian Currie was born in Saskatchewan in July 1912 and he died in Ottawa in June 1986. Before the Second World War he was a Mechanic, but after the War he rose to become the Sergeant at Arms in the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa.

I first learned of David and his VC in the letter sent by Elizabeth Cooper to my paternal grandmother, Blanche Alice Vickery, nee Tiplin, in 1945. This can be viewed in my “History” section of pages.

Everything else that I know about this great man has been gleaned from the internet, so I am keeping this page short and the reader is able to expand their knowledge of David Vivian Currie on the web.
