Descendant Leslie Tiplin Vickery
The work and ministry of Ann Rosser has lived on in the family. Elizabeth Cooper gives some examples in her family history which pre-dates the activities of a great, great, great grandson of Ann Rosser, namely the Rev Leslie Tiplin Vickery.
Rev Vickery committed his life to Methodism and a ministry that encompassed not just his pastoral duties, but also in a capacity as a Psychological Therapist he brought great comfort to many individuals whom he counselled over a number of years and it is believed that this latter ministry was the prime reason that he received his O.B.E. from the Queen in 1974 for which he travelled from Australia to receive the honour in Buckingham Palace accompanied by his wife and son.
1981 Service at Earlswood Chapel
In 1981, whilst on holiday in the UK, Rev Vickery officiated at a Service in Earlswood Chapel on 20th September. In addition to the usual congregation many descendants of Ann Rosser came to the service from various parts of the UK. The descendants and where appropriate their spouses are all included in the above photograph which was reproduced in the “Weekly Argus” of September 24th.
